About Me

I'm Farid Jabbarli, a graphic designer and art director from Baku. My path in design was shaped by an early fascination with music culture, street visuals, and the energy of independent media. My formative years were filled with magazines, album covers, and a constant urge to dissect how images, type, and layout can define a mood.

Growing up in Azerbaijan, I experienced both the weight of tradition and the rapid pace of change. This contrast has deeply influenced my work — I'm drawn to bold visual statements that still carry a cultural trace. I began freelancing early, designing posters and small brand identities while still studying. Those first commissions taught me that design is not just decoration — it's a language that shapes perception.

Over the past 6+ years, I've built visual systems for leading companies, artists, and cultural projects. My portfolio spans brand identities, editorial design, album covers, stage visuals, and large-scale campaigns. I've directed projects end-to-end — from concept and composition to final production — across print, digital, and motion.

Music has always been central to my practice. I've served as creative director for prominent artists, crafted album identities, and developed visuals that live across social media, streaming platforms, and physical formats. I see each project as a stage: type, image, and space working together to create an atmosphere.

My approach is built on strict visual systems with intentional disruption: the grid exists so it can be broken at the right moment. This applies to every layer of my work — typography, composition, imagery, and color — creating tension that draws attention without losing clarity. I believe a mark should remain recognisable even when the format changes.

Today, I continue to explore the intersection of design, music, and culture — creating work that is functional, bold, and honest, while carrying a distinct signature that connects with audiences.
